TRADE-IN POLICY

Allegro Music offers a 100% trade-in on all string instruments it sells. If you originally purchased a new violin, viola, cello or bass from Allegro Music in the past and need a bigger size or want to upgrade, our trade-in policy offers a credit towards the purchase of a new instrument.

Our trade-in policy only applies to the purchase of a new instrument of equal or greater value than the original purchase price of the trade-in instrument. The purchase price of a trade-in item, excluding sales tax, shipping, and accessories, will be fully applied towards the second purchase.

Only one instrument can be traded toward the purchase of another instrument. Additionally, you may only trade the same type of instrument for the same type of instrument (a violin towards a violin, or a viola towards a viola, etc.)

There will be no refurbishment fee deducted for normal wear and tear. A depreciation fee will only be deducted if the instrument has had serious damage. Any dents, large scratches, cracks, etc., will diminish the trade-in value.

The instrument, bow, and case must remain in good condition. Bridges, sound-posts, fingerboards, pegs, bow hair, strings, and other parts, must be properly maintained. Please remove any and all decals, stickers, tape, and other markings from the instrument, case, and bow before trading them in.

For trade-ins, orders should be placed over the phone so that we can calculate the trade-in value. The total of the credit is calculated from the original value of the instrument to be traded in, minus the cost of new strings, repairs and maintenance, if necessary.

We will send you the new instrument, charging for the price of the instrument minus trade-in credits and discounts. If you are certain you would like to keep the new instrument, pack up the trade-in instrument, using the same box the new instrument arrived in, if possible. The old instrument must be received back by us within 30 days of the purchase of your new instrument or you will be charged the full price for the new instrument. Shipping charges for the shipping of trade-in instruments are the responsibility of the customer.
